Wrenfield Plasma-Cut Fence Topper – Mild Steel
The Wrenfield Fence Topper is a plasma-cut mild steel fence extension showing songbirds perched along two sweeping, leafy branches. Cut from 3 mm steel, it is available at 1830 × 450 mm to suit a standard 6 ft fence panel or 915 × 450 mm for a shorter 3 ft stretch.
If you feed the birds or have planted for wildlife, this is the topper that ties the fence into the rest of the garden. It looks lovely on the stretch of fence you see from the kitchen window, behind a bird table, or above a bench where you sit with a morning cup of tea. The little perched birds are easy to pick out at a distance, and real ones are just as likely to land on the rail beside them.
Finishes are raw steel, satin black or anthracite grey. Raw steel is honest about what it is: outdoors it rusts to an orange-brown patina that sits nicely with timber and planting, though the run-off can stain pale surfaces underneath. Satin black and anthracite grey are powder coated to give a durable coloured finish that stays one colour.
Along the base is a 40 mm rail with pre-cut Ø8 mm fixing holes, five on the longer size and four on the shorter. It screws straight onto a fence top rail or onto posts, so there is nothing to weld and no special tools beyond a drill-driver.
An occasional wash keeps coated panels looking fresh, and raw steel needs nothing at all. Wrenfield is made to order in our Knowsley workshop, and we'll confirm your dispatch date by email once your order is in.

Questions
Is it suitable for a wildlife garden?
Yes. It is a flat steel panel with no coatings on the raw version, and birds happily perch on the rail. Choose raw steel for a natural rusted look or a powder-coated finish for colour.
Does the raw finish rust?
It does. Raw mild steel rusts to an orange-brown patina outdoors, and run-off can mark pale paving or walls beneath it.
What do I need to fit it?
A drill-driver and exterior screws to suit your fence. The 40 mm bottom rail has pre-cut Ø8 mm holes, five on the 1830 mm size and four on the 915 mm size.
Can I get it made to fit my fence exactly?
Yes. If you need a different width, height or layout, send us the details through our Custom Plasma Cutting quote form and we'll come back to you with a price.
