METAL FABRICATION SERVICES
At MetalPlasmaCutting, we offer end-to-end metal fabrication services designed to turn raw material into finished, ready-to-install components and structures.
From custom brackets and structural frames to detailed enclosures and panel work, our team delivers high-quality results that meet the needs of demanding industries.

Whether you're supplying your own drawings or working with us from concept to completion, we offer a flexible, professional fabrication process that covers cutting, bending, welding, forming, and finishing. Every part is made to exacting standards, and every job is managed with care — ensuring consistent quality, fast turnaround, and full traceability where required.
Our state of the art facilities, are equipped to handle both lightweight sheet metal and heavy-duty structural steel, giving us the capability to serve everything from one-off bespoke items to large-scale production runs. We take pride in supporting UK businesses with reliable service, technical expertise, and fabrication that simply fits first time.
CUTTING (PLASMA, LASER AND SAW CUTTING)
Cutting is the critical first step in most fabrication projects. At MetalPlasmaCutting.co.uk, we primarily use high-definition CNC plasma cutting for fast, accurate profiling of mild steel, stainless steel, and aluminium sheets. This allows us to produce complex shapes, tight curves, and intricate patterns with minimal waste.
For projects that require ultra-fine precision or heat-sensitive materials, laser cutting may be utilised through our trusted partners. We also incorporate bandsaw cutting and manual methods for bar stock, box section, and thicker profiles where appropriate. Our in-house capabilities mean we can cut raw material to size quickly — setting the foundation for efficient downstream fabrication.
Best used for: Flat components, gussets, structural cut-outs, and base plates.
BENDING & FOLDING
Once the parts are cut, sheet metal bending and folding is used to shape them into functional forms. Using a CNC press brake, we apply consistent force along a pre-programmed bend line — allowing us to create clean, uniform angles to precise dimensions.
This process is especially important for creating parts that need rigidity without added weight, or enclosures that require precise corner fits. We can form a variety of profiles, from simple 90° bends to multi-step shapes, while maintaining material integrity and edge sharpness. Every bend is checked for accuracy, helping ensure parts fit perfectly during final assembly or welding.
Best used for: Electrical boxes, machine covers, U-channels, support brackets.
WELDING (MIG & TIG)
Welding is what brings individual components together into one cohesive structure. We offer both MIG (Metal Inert Gas) and TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas) welding, depending on the material type and finish required. MIG welding is ideal for faster production and thicker materials, while TIG offers cleaner, more detailed results on stainless steel and aluminium.
Our experienced fabricators focus on strength, consistency, and weld cleanliness. Whether it’s structural frames that require full-penetration welds or visible components that need a polished finish, we tailor our approach to match your specific requirements.
Best used for: Structural frameworks, bespoke metal products, pipe and plate joints.

Fabrication doesn’t end with welding or bending — it’s often the finishing touches that define quality. We offer complete post-fabrication services including drilling, tapping, grinding, deburring, and mechanical assembly. These processes ensure every part is smooth, safe to handle, and fit for immediate installation.
FAQs
-
Metal fabrication is the process of cutting, shaping, and assembling metal to create finished parts, products, or structures. It includes services like plasma cutting, bending, welding, and drilling to turn raw sheet or bar material into usable components.
-
We work with mild steel, stainless steel, and aluminium as standard, but can also handle other materials upon request. Let us know your requirements, and we’ll advise on the best solution.
-
Not necessarily. While CAD drawings are helpful, we can also work from basic sketches or concepts and assist with creating detailed production files in-house.
-
Yes — we specialise in both one-off bespoke parts and large production runs. Whether it's a single bracket or a full structural assembly, we’ve got the tools and team to handle it.
-
MIG welding is faster and ideal for thicker materials and structural work. TIG welding is more precise and produces cleaner welds, making it suitable for stainless steel and aluminium where appearance and detail matter.
-
We offer grinding, deburring, drilling, tapping, and mechanical assembly in-house. We can also prep your parts for external services like powder coating, galvanising, or painting.
-
Our CNC press brakes provide highly accurate bends with tight tolerances. Each bend is measured and checked to ensure dimensional consistency throughout your batch.
-
We can handle small precision components as well as large sheet and structural fabrications. Our equipment accommodates various thicknesses — typically from 1mm up to 25mm depending on the material and process.
-
Lead times depend on the complexity, volume, and current workshop load. We aim for fast turnaround on most jobs, and offer express services for urgent projects where possible.
-
Yes — we offer nationwide delivery across the UK. You’re also welcome to arrange collection from our workshop once your parts are completed and quality checked.
