Delivery

Everything we sell online, in the Metalwork shop and in Buy Metal (cut-to-size plate, strip and discs), is made to order in our Knowsley workshop, and we'll confirm your dispatch date by email. Because each piece is cut and finished after you order, the delivery date depends on when your order is made, not on stock sitting in a warehouse. If you need something by a particular date, such as a birthday or anniversary, email us at info@metalplasmacutting.co.uk before you order and we'll tell you honestly whether we can make it in time.

Where we deliver

UK mainland: England, Wales and mainland Scotland, including London.

Scottish Highlands, Scottish Islands, Northern Ireland and the Isle of Wight: yes, by pallet. There is no small-parcel rate to these areas, so small orders go at the micro-pallet price shown below.

Guernsey, Jersey, the Isle of Man and outside the UK: checkout can't deliver there. Please email info@metalplasmacutting.co.uk for a quote before ordering.

Delivery charges

Delivery is shown separately at checkout, worked out on your whole basket and your postcode. All prices include VAT. Buy Metal (cut-to-size) pieces have a £70 minimum charge each, before delivery.

  • Parcel, £25: UK mainland orders up to 30 kg where no piece is longer than 1000 mm or wider than 700 mm.

  • Pallet: everything else. Checkout picks the smallest pallet that fits: micro (up to 150 kg), quarter (300 kg), half (600 kg), full (1200 kg), or a 1.6 m plus pallet for pieces longer than 1200 mm.

Parcel or pallet

Small pieces, such as house numbers, signs, garden stakes, brackets and small cut-to-size plates, travel by tracked parcel. Large or heavy orders, including gates, privacy screens, bin stores and long or wide plate, travel on a pallet with Pallex.

For pallet deliveries:

  • The carrier will contact you to arrange a delivery day.

  • Pallet deliveries are usually made to the kerbside or the nearest accessible point, not into the back garden: Our pallet price includes a tail-lift vehicle..

  • Please make sure someone is at home who can help move the items. A complete gate is awkward for one person to carry.

  • Tell us at checkout about any access restrictions, such as a narrow lane, a steep drive or a weight limit.

How it's packed

Slot-together items, including the fire pits, BBQ and fire basket stand, windbreak, obelisk, wine rack and fireplace screen, are packed flat with their parts together. Panels and wall pieces are protected at the edges and faces so the finish arrives unmarked. Powder-coated items get extra protection on their faces. Packaging is [CONFIRM: packaging materials, e.g. cardboard and recyclable wrap].

When your order arrives

  • Check it before signing, where you can. If the packaging is badly damaged, note this with the driver.

  • Open and inspect it within [CONFIRM: number of days to report damage] days. Check the finish, the edges, and that all parts are there. Slot-together items should have every panel and plate listed on the product page.

  • Tell us straight away if anything is damaged, missing or wrong. Email info@metalplasmacutting.co.uk with your order number and photos of the item and packaging. Goods remain our responsibility until they are delivered to you, so we'll arrange a repair, replacement or refund in line with your statutory rights.

  • Handle with gloves. Our edges are cleaned up, but steel plate is heavy and a cut edge can still catch.

Raw steel pieces may show light surface marks or early rust spots by the time they reach you. That is normal for bare mild steel and is the start of the patina, not a fault. Read more on our care and finishes page.

Tracking and missed deliveries

We'll email you when your order is dispatched, with tracking details where the carrier provides them. If a delivery is missed, the carrier will usually leave a card or message explaining how to rebook. [CONFIRM: redelivery or return-to-sender charges]
