Wrenfield Plasma-Cut Climbing Plant Trellis Panel – Mild Steel

from £149.99

The Wrenfield Climbing Plant Trellis Panel is a tall, flat mild steel trellis cut as a diamond climbing lattice, topped with a crest of songbirds perched on a leafy branch, for fixing to a wall or fence as a support for climbers.

Even before anything grows on it, the panel works as a piece of garden art: the birds sit along the leafy branch in the crest as if they have just landed. Once a jasmine, honeysuckle or climbing rose threads through, the lattice disappears behind the real leaves and the birds stay on show above them.

At 600 mm wide and 1800 mm high, it suits a bare house wall beside a back door, a stretch of fence in a courtyard garden, or the side of a garage where you want to soften plain brick.

It is plasma-cut from 3 mm mild steel with six Ø8 mm holes for wall plugs or fence posts. Use spacers to hold the panel 25 mm off the wall, leaving room for stems to weave behind it and air to circulate.

Choose raw steel, satin black or anthracite grey. Raw steel will rust to an orange-brown patina outdoors and may streak render or pale brick beneath it. Satin black and anthracite grey give a durable coloured finish; anthracite is a good match for modern grey windows and fencing.

Tie in young growth for the first season, then let the plant find its own way. Made to order in our Knowsley workshop; we'll confirm your dispatch date by email.
