The Hawthorn Privacy Screen Panel is a full-height plasma-cut mild steel screen, 1800 mm tall, patterned with winding hawthorn branches, lobed leaves and clusters of haws. It is cut from 3 mm steel in two widths, 900 mm and 1200 mm, and is designed to fix between timber posts or onto battens.
Use it where you want to soften a view rather than wall it off: beside a patio overlooked by a neighbouring window, around a hot tub, across the middle of a long garden to create a secret corner, or in front of a compost bay. The branches fill the panel densely enough to break sightlines while still letting air and dappled light through, and climbers such as clematis or honeysuckle can be trained right through it.
Choose a finish to suit your space. Raw steel is supplied bare and will rust outdoors to an orange-brown patina that blends into planting, although rust run-off can stain pale paving or decking boards directly beneath the panel. Satin black and anthracite grey are powder coated for a durable coloured finish.
The panel has a 30 mm side frame with six Ø8 mm fixing holes, so you can screw it straight onto timber posts or battens. With two people it is a quick job with a drill-driver and exterior screws.
Wipe coated panels with warm soapy water as needed, and leave raw steel to weather. Each screen is made to order in our Knowsley workshop, and we'll confirm your dispatch date by email.
How private is it?
The branches are dense enough to break up direct sightlines, but it is a pierced screen, so it softens a view rather than blocking it completely.
How do I fix it?
The 30 mm side frame has six Ø8 mm holes for screwing to timber posts or battens. Fixings are not included.
Will raw steel stain my patio or decking?
It can. Raw mild steel rusts to an orange-brown patina outdoors, and the run-off may stain pale surfaces below. Choose a powder-coated finish if that is a concern.
