Hawthorn Plasma-Cut Garden Obelisk – Mild Steel

from £149.99

The Hawthorn Garden Obelisk is a 1.5 m tall mild steel plant support made from two tapering, leafy panels that cross-slot together to form a four-sided climbing frame.

Both panels are cut with our Hawthorn pattern of twisting stems and small leaves, so the obelisk looks good in bare winter months as well as when it is smothered in sweet peas or a clematis in June. Viewed from any side, the cross shape gives a strong vertical point in a border.

Use it to train climbing beans on the allotment, give a small rose something to lean on in a cottage border, or stand it in a large patio pot for a clematis. At 400 mm across the base it fits most generous containers.

The panels are plasma-cut from 3 mm mild steel. They simply cross-slot at the centre, with no tools or welding needed, and the legs push into the soil or into the compost of a large pot.

Choose raw steel or satin black. Raw steel will rust to an orange-brown patina outdoors, which disappears nicely into foliage; it can mark a light-coloured pot or paving underneath. Satin black is a durable coloured finish that gives a crisp outline.

In exposed spots, push the legs well down and firm the soil so the weight of a mature climber doesn't tip it. Made to order in our Knowsley workshop; we'll confirm your dispatch date by email.
