The Fellside Metal Side Gate is a 1800 mm high garden gate with a plasma-cut mild steel infill showing layered fell ridges, a low sun and a pine forest. It is made in 900 mm or 1000 mm widths and sold as a complete welded gate or as the infill panel only.
The landscape reads beautifully at gate height: the pines sit at eye level, the ridges climb behind them and the sun hangs low over the top rail. It suits a stone cottage, a farmhouse yard, or any home where the family would rather be out on the hills. Hung at the side of a house, it turns a practical entrance into a small piece of scenery.
Choosing the complete welded gate gets you a gate fabricated and welded in our workshop, with the 3 mm Fellside infill fixed into a steel box-section frame. Hinges and latch are not included; pick fittings to suit timber posts, stone piers or a brick wall. For restoration jobs or your own frame, the infill panel only is 3 mm plate sized to weld or bolt in.
Finish options are satin black, anthracite grey and raw steel. Satin black and anthracite grey are powder coated for a durable coloured finish; grey sits especially well against natural stone. Raw steel will rust outdoors to an orange-brown patina, the colour of dead bracken, but rust run-off can stain pale flags or steps underneath.
