The Dragonfly Metal Garden Stake is a plasma-cut mild steel dragonfly with four veined wings, held up on a slim integral spike so it seems to hover above your plants.
On a warm summer day, dragonflies patrol the air over ponds and long grass, wings catching the light. The veining on each of the four wings is cut right through the steel, so sunlight throws a delicate net of shadows onto the soil and leaves below.
Set it among low planting near a pond, in a gravel garden, or in a big container on a patio where the wing pattern can be seen against the sky. It also brightens up a new border while the plants are still establishing.
The stake is plasma-cut in one piece from 3 mm mild steel and measures 305 mm wide × 800 mm high, including the integral ground spike. It comes as a single stake or as a pair (save on two), handy for flanking a path or a gate. Push the spike 250–300 mm into firm soil; nothing else is needed.
Finish options are raw steel, rust patina and satin black. Raw steel will rust to an orange-brown patina outdoors, giving a warm, earthy tone; rust patina gives you that look from the start and continues to age naturally.
