Dandelion Clock Plasma-Cut Metal Wall Art – Mild Steel
This is dandelion clock metal wall art: a full dandelion seed-head on a curving stem, with three separate steel seeds that you place as if they are drifting away on the breeze. It captures that childhood moment of blowing a clock and watching the seeds go.
Because the three seeds are loose pieces, you decide how the scene plays out. Space them far apart across a stairwell wall for a sense of movement, or keep them close to the head for a tighter composition above a console table. It works well in a hallway, a bedroom, a conservatory, or on a sunny garden wall behind a border.
The main piece measures 600 mm wide by 900 mm tall and is cut from 3 mm mild steel. The fine seed-head detail throws lovely shadows when light rakes across it.
Fixing is thought through. The main piece has a 7 mm hole at the centre of the seed-head, plus fixing through the ground bar at the base of the stem, so it sits flat and steady. Each drifting seed has its own 5 mm hole. Use fixings suited to your wall.
There are three finishes. Raw steel will rust outdoors to an orange-brown patina that suits a natural, planted setting. Rust patina gives you that aged look from day one. Satin black is a durable coloured powder-coated finish that looks sharp on pale walls indoors.
Each one is made to order in our Knowsley workshop, and we'll confirm your dispatch date by email. For care, dust indoors or rinse with water outdoors. Rust from raw or rust patina steel can run down onto render or paving, so place it with that in mind.

Questions
How do I arrange the seeds?
Each seed has its own 5 mm hole, so you can fix them wherever you like. Lay them out on the floor or tape paper templates to the wall first to find a spacing you like.
Will it rust outside?
Raw steel will rust to an orange-brown patina outdoors, and rust run-off can stain pale surfaces below. Satin black is powder-coated for a durable coloured finish.
How is the main piece fixed?
Through a 7 mm hole at the centre of the seed-head and through the ground bar at the base of the stem.
Can I have it smaller?
Yes. Use our Custom Plasma Cutting quote form with the size you need and we'll come back to you with a price.
